US passport holders can visit Spain and the Schengen area visa-free for up to 90 days. From 2025, US travellers must obtain ETIAS authorisation before travel — apply at etias.ec.europa.eu for EUR 7, valid 3 years for multiple entries. The EU Entry/Exit System (EES) registers biometrics at the first Schengen crossing. Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned Schengen departure date. The 90-day limit covers all Schengen countries combined.
